(April 22nd - 23rd , 2024)
We are delighted to extend a warm welcome to all participants of the “International Symposium for Strengthening Research Network on Microfluidics and Sensor Innovation” scheduled to take place on April 22-23, 2024, at the esteemed Faculty of Science, Mahidol University. It is with great honor that the National Research Council of Thailand (NRCT) collaborates with a distinguished group of Thai researchers renowned for their contributions to the field of microfluidics and sensor research in co-organizing this international conference.
Since the fiscal year 2020, a consortium of Thai researchers, under the leadership of the Symposium’s chair, has been awarded a grant by NRCT to establish an International Research Network (IRN) focusing on the “Strengthening and Expansion of International Research Network on Microfluidic Analytical Technology.” This initiative centers on fostering an “International Research Network for Platform Knowledge and Technology of Smart Microfluidics in Nanotechnology Industry and Sensor Innovation for Food, Health, and Public Safety.” A key objective of this IRN project is to position Thailand as an “Education Research and Innovation Hub on Microfluidic Analytical Technology in ASEAN.”
I commend the organizing committee for their dedicated efforts in assembling distinguished speakers and participants from across the nation and around the globe to address the challenges inherent in establishing an international research network conducive to sustainability. This event underscores our commitment to harnessing collective expertise toward building a sustainable future and advancing economically significant, pioneering technologies aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
I am also delighted to announce that the initiative by NRCT that led to the organization of the “International Symposium for Strengthening Research Network on Microfluidics and Sensor Innovation” has resulted in a joint symposium for students, the "International Student Symposium in Analytical Sciences." Hence, I extend heartfelt gratitude to our co-organizing hosts, including the Faculty of Science and the Faculty of Graduate Study at Mahidol University, as well as the Center of Excellence for Innovation in Chemistry (PERCH-CIC PERDO) under the project of Hub of Knowledge in Technology of Analysis for Food, Environment, and Bioresources, which is also supported by NRCT.
I wish to express my sincere appreciation to the Symposium chair, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Duangjai Nacapricha, vice-chair Assoc. Prof. Dr. Kanchana Uraisin, the symposium secretary Asst. Prof. Dr. Phoonthawee Saetear, and their dedicated local organizing committee for their exemplary commitment to orchestrating this symposium.
With confidence, I anticipate that the symposium will yield fruitful outcomes and establish a solid foundation for the advancement of research networks in microfluidics, sensor innovation, and related analytical technologies.
